Belly to Baby: A Dog & His New Best Friend

Life comes at you fast: one day you’re coaching your dachshund in a wiener dog race; the next, you’re reaching out to the wiener race photographer to book a lifestyle maternity photo session! That’s exactly how I got to know Victoria and her family!

Christopher Moltisanti (yes, named after the character from The Sopranos!), the very lovable and adorable wiener dog, won second place at the 2023 Lucky’s Great Wiener Race and was, in fact, the networking connection between his pawrents and me. Victoria reached out to me almost a year after the race to ask about a fall maternity photo session, now that their family was growing and Christopher was soon to be a big brother; and truly, how could I ever say no to a winner!? They opted to go with our Belly to Baby package!

Victoria’s maternity photoshoot landed on a perfect late-October evening at the Philadelphia Museum of Art! We, of course, started the session by focusing on Christopher and capturing all his solo glamour shots, then moved on to family portraits and some shots of Mom by herself. We were lucky enough to get the most perfect golden hour lighting, which definitely elevated the all-around chic, fall atmosphere we were going for!

The next time I got to catch up with Christopher Moltisanti’s family was for the second installment of their Belly to Baby package, in which they opted for a 7-month baby session during the summer! With the Belly to Baby package, you get the choice to either go with a lifestyle newborn photoshoot at home or around the 6-9 month mark, which we often refer to as a sitter session. When you choose to go with the 6-9 month baby milestone, we can start to see a lot of their personality starting to pop out, and it’s also when a lot of babies are starting to sit up and crawl on their own.

For their 7-month baby lifestyle family photo session, we headed back to the Art Museum area to capture some updated family photos! Getting to photograph their son in the same place we documented their maternity photos, only a few months back, was so special, and it was also the perfect way to encapsulate the two very different seasons and periods of life!

Most recently, we ran into Christopher and his family at the 2026 Lucky’s Great Wiener Race, and we couldn’t believe just how big the baby had gotten, and it was disgustingly adorable watching him run around and explore his fur-sibling’s stomping grounds.
