2025 Family of the Year Update

You might recognize this family from our 2024 Family of the Year. We caught up for Isla’s one-year session, and as always, got the cutest smiles and the best cuddle puddles. 

Cutest Sibling Duo

I have been photographing this lovely family since their eldest daughter was only a newborn, and it’s been so special getting to not only watch their family grow, but also experience the cutest bond that Charlotte and Emily have with one another. During their family session this past fall, the girls had so much fun running around and playing with the leaves, which resulted in the cutest photos ever. 

Cutest Announcement

With a 3rd baby on the way, what better way to announce their arrival than to involve their two eldest children? We had a great time just letting the girls play with one another while we snapped some family photos involving the sonogram. Cutest Grandparents

I got to photograph the sweetest beach session this past summer down at the Jersey Shore. I got to reconnect with this family to update their family photos after having photographed their wedding a few years ago. And while photographing them, I got to snap a few adorable pictures of the grandparents who just happened to join us to lend a helping hand. 

Most Animal Supported Session

What better way to calm a newborn baby down than to have family snuggles with all of your fur-children?? Kristina got all the parenting support from her beloved cats, Dougie and Junie, and of course, Toby, the best golden retriever nanny dog! 

Cutest Tear Fall

Proof that even the imperfect moments become the sweetest memories. 

Fastest Crawler

Our fastest crawler of 2025 award has to go to Dean; he could win marathons at the speed he crawls and definitely competes with his big fur-sister, Maisey. 

Best Guardian Cat

Monty was the absolute best guard cat for newborn Gabriel, which resulted in the most precious photo. 

Best Way to Spend a Sunday Morning

We love it when referrals come from mom groups, and we get to meet all the cutest babies in the neighborhood. We spent a warm Sunday morning at home; sometimes the mundane is the most fun to document. 

Best Puppy Kiss

Who doesn’t love puppy kisses?!? Opal gave everyone the best kisses and had just the cutest little poses during her fall photoshoot. 🙂 You can read all about what planning your puppy photoshoot is like here!

Coziest Maternity

Jacalyn and Jonathan definitely had the coziest and most relaxing maternity photo session this year. We decided to just do most of the session in their beautiful Philadelphia home, which worked out perfectly because it meant we got to include their fur-baby, Sophie. 

Best Post-Session Bribe

Sometimes, you just have to use bribery (in the form of ice cream) to get the kids to go along with family photos. After a few (iconic) eyerolls, we promised the kids a trip to the local ice cream shop, where we were able to grab a few more fun family photos!

Most Acrobatic Family

I’ve photographed this family every year since 2020, and each time I see them, the kids have a new photo idea to keep me on my toes. They love to climb trees, do flips, and even climb walls in some cases! 

Best Foliage

Philadelphia had a really great fall this year, and we filled it up with so many beautiful and colorful photo sessions, but this one definitely stands out as the most perfect. The Horticulture Center is the perfect backdrop for fall foliage, even later in the season. 

Messiest Cake Smash

Felix definitely enjoyed his first taste of cake during the last installment of his Belly to Birthday journey (you can see his full B2B journey here!! He dug right in, after spending a fun afternoon with mom, dad, and of course his big-fur-sister Mimi. Check out my blog to read about some of my tips for planning your cake smash! \

Fluffiest Dog

Our fluffiest dog this year definitely has to go to Ace! He did great during his first photoshoot, and he gave all of us the best cuddles while still maintaining that chaotic golden retriever puppy energy! 

Coldest Maternity Session

Ellen’s maternity session in Old City, Philadelphia, was definitely the coldest maternity session I photographed this year. We powered through the cold and wind that made this mid-January day feel like 19-degrees to capture some beautiful winter maternity photos! You can see more from Ellen’s maternity session here! 

Hottest Maternity Session

On the opposite spectrum of Ellen’s cold maternity photoshoot, Elyse’s maternity was definitely the hottest maternity session of the year! I photographed Elyse and her family on a very hot and humid late-June evening (that felt like 96-degrees out) in the Wissahickon. Despite the gross weather, Elyse and her daughter, Leia, looked great, and you wouldn’t even be able to tell how hot it was looking at them. Best Dance Party

Big brother Hugo had the best way to keep his newborn baby brother Arthur and the rest of his family entertained during their at-home Philadelphia newborn photo session… by throwing a dance party! It was adorable to hear his giggles as he showed off his incredible dance moves. 

Sleepiest Newborn

Milo stayed asleep for pretty much the whole session, so we were able to get a lot of cute stuff, including lots of cute photos with his fur-siblings. 

Cutest Gardener

Sawyer started off the session by giving his mom a flower from their garden, and we spent the rest of the evening doing their session in the beautiful backyard. 

Neatest Cake Smash

Perhaps the most unique cake smash I’ve ever done occurred this year, I got to photograph my first cake smash for a cat! I’ve photographed smashes for babies, and even dogs, but this was my first cat, and she was in fact the most neat and gentle cake eater I’ve ever seen. 

Best Trio

Our best trio award goes to the best fur-siblings I’ve ever seen, Noel, Bentley, and Macie! They were so incredibly photogenic (they knew all of their right angles), and they make up the cutest little family! 

Best Hair

Julian and Asher definitely win the award for best hair, I mean, c’mon… do I even need to explain? 

Most Fun with Grandma

Chloe and her grandmom, “Gaga,” had so much fun playing, doing yoga, and reading their favorite books during their grandmom-centered family session! This session was a beautiful gift from Chloe’s mom because she wanted to capture Chloe and Gaga’s special bond. This session resulted in some of the most beautiful memories for Chloe to look back on as she gets older. Best Photobomb

This was no shock to me, because I’ve known since February (when this photo was taken) that Bandit was going to take home the award for best photobomb of 2025. His little smile as he steals away the attention of my camera is absolute perfection. Best Spring Session

We were lucky that Darin’s due date lined up so perfectly with cherry blossom season. Check out our springtime blog for more spring inspiration! 

Proudest Dad

I caught the cutest family moment as I was walking back into the nursery from switching my camera lens. 

Cutest Local Celebrity

We first met Christopher when he won Lucky’s Weiner Race a few years back, and we’ve been obsessed with him ever since. Not only is he a champion, but he’s also a great big brother! Check him out in this year’s race (which may or may not have been stolen from him jkjk). 

Most Philly Session

This beautiful family had a beautiful fall family photo session with the best Philadelphia skyline! We found a secluded area that allowed their little run to run around and explore the area as we captured some fun posed and candid family photos before heading back to their home to capture a sweet front stoop photo.

Best Smile

Baby Layth has the sweetest little smile I’ve ever seen, and paired with his cozy teddy bear sweater, I couldn’t resist awarding him the best smile. 

Best Duo

Archie has been a star in all of the photoshoots that we’ve done for the Greenwood family, so it was no surprise when he lay his head down right next to his newborn sister. 

Best Nose Pick

We like our boogers local and free range. 

Most Chaotic

Two goldens, their favorite toys, unlimited backyard space, and a walk through their favorite spots in the neighborhood, and you can barely tell how much chaos took place during Gill and Brooks photoshoot. 

Coolest Toddler

Our coolest toddler award has to go to the very stylish Nate. While we were photographing his newborn baby brother Caleb, Nate wandered in from playing with dad in the other room to show us his cool tattoos and new way to wear his pants. Bestest Boy

Cooper was definitely the bestest boy this year. He dazzled all of us with his handsome smile and snuggly cuddles. Goodest Girl

Grace the Goodest Girl is what they should call her!!! Grace was the prettiest and goodest big sister to newborn Nora and gave the entire family (and even me!) some of the best dalmatian kisses, snuggles, and smiles I’ve ever seen. 

Bluest Sky

We love the combination of winter light with all the beautiful blues, including the sky, in these photos. Race Street Pier is one of our most underused photo locations, especially in the winter. You can see more photos from this winter maternity session on TikTok! 

Best Black and White Series

Sometimes classic black and white really highlights the sweet in-between moments. 

Best Radar Ear

Biride brought the best of her puppy energy to the shoot. She bounced in and out of the grass, giving us some really great action shots. 

Best Big Brother

Quint wins the best big brother award of 2025! He was so loving and sweet to his newborn baby brother, and he took care of him in all of the best ways, including holding his hand! It was extra special to document them together, because it was only a few years ago when I did Quint’s newborn session.

Best Big Sister

Sophia is the best big sister to her baby brother, Lucas, and that is why she is being awarded today! During Lucas’ newborn session, she gave him lots of kisses and snuggles (even climbed in his crib with him to give him comfort). And when it came time for his 6-9 month session, Sophia was great at getting her baby brother to smile and helping him sit up!

Best Dressed Dog

Rooney’s adorable little bowtie definitely secured him the spot as our best-dressed dog in 2025. I mean, just look at that stunning over-the-shoulder pose he’s giving us, he knows he is the moment! You can see more of Rooney and his family from last summer on my TikTok!  

Best Nanny Dog

Lucy is the absolute best nanny dog I’ve seen this year! Not only was she super attentive during her family’s maternity session this past summer, but she also made sure to watch over Newborn Oliver and give him all the kisses he deserves! Best Outtake (a tie!!!!)
